Marisa Di Muro Italian Soprano Survivor

Soprano born in the Hills of Southern Italy, from a small village called Senerchia, near Avellino. At the young age of 13, on 23rd November 1980 a violent earthquake destroyed great part of her village changing the paths of many of its inhabitants. The natural disaster claimed many lives amongst which also her mother Guarnaccia Grazia. She found a safe home in UK joining her sisters’ young family. Her passion for singing and finding her roots brought her back to Italy to train as an opera singer at the Music Conservatoire Luigi Cherubini in Florence Italy. She continued her studies in UK with International soprano Jenny Hill specialising in “Bel Canto Singing” applying the Elvira De Hidalgo technique as applied by Maria Callas. Attended masterclasses with Benjamin Luxon and Rosalind Plowright in London.

Marisa has performed in this country in prestigious venues such as Saddlers Wells Theatre for the Rossini Society, and abroad as soprano soloist in various operas and chamber concerts. As well as a singer Ms Di Muro was chosen as an actress in the presence of Franco Zeffirelli’s production of “Pagliacci” alongside Placido Domingo at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London.

A Finalist at the Britain Does Variety 2012 and again a Finalist for Open Mic UK 2016 have given Ms Di Muro exposure on TV with appearances on ITV, Sky TV Showcase and Venus TV, as well as going live on Radio Stations including BBC Radio Kent and London One Radio and appearing in Magazines like The Sovereign, Bite, NMB and Flair International, Integral

Ms Di Muro has evolved into a singer songwriter with her single “Dancing Moon” who’s music video has received 3 nominations as Finalist at the British Film Festival 2020, won several Film Festivals and featured in numerous digital Fashions Shows and Award Ceremonies in 2021.

Winner of Stardust Award 2017 and also winning recognition as Beautiful Survivor at Loani Global 2017, WAW Award 2018, Winner of The Authors Award 2018, Powerhouse Global Award Artist of the Year 2018 and Winner at Panache Global Entertainment Award 2018 for Music Industry as well as being Finalist at the National Mentoring Awards 2019 in the music sector.

2020 has brought many challenges to all business and in particularly the Arts, yet winning recognition with more awards, She Inspires Me Awards (SIMA) 2020/21 . Representing Italy at the Global Change Makers for Loani Global. Award Winner at Ganap TV Digital Awards2021 as International soprano singer.
